NEW BUILD HOUSE,
BORDERS
A new build, low carbon farmhouse located on a remote hillside in the Scottish Borders. The house is formed in three joined wings comprising living, bedroom and carport spaces. The house has been designed to incorporate generous areas of glazing to the south-east to capture views down the valley, which contrasts with limited areas of glazing to the north-west addressing the harsher weather elements from the hillside. The house adopts a low maintenance approach in material selection and is predominantly constructed using sustainably sourced timber including natural cedar cladding. It is highly insulated and air tight and adopts a renewable air source heat pump and whole house heat recovery ventilation system to ensure low running costs.
