ROOF EXTENSION, KELTON

This project involves the extension of a terraced cottage set in the beautiful Galloway countryside. The original pitched roof has been extruded to create an additional bedroom providing much needed space for a growing family.

The front elevation continues the traditional style of the terrace with a new pitched dormer to complete the symmetry. At the rear, a new box dormer pops out of the roof to provide sufficient head height for a new stair and to accommodate an en-suite.

Internally, the cottage has been opened up to give a feel of spaciousness and help bring in more daylight to the ground floor. A tall window in the new timber clad gable wall captures views to the countryside beyond.
